Xgobi

ggobi[41], xgobi and xgvis[42] are related via their common authors and approach to data exploration. xgobi is an X Windows-based tool for displaying N-dimensional data, as well as performing analyses such as Principle component analysis and correlation tours. xgvis is a co-packaged tool for multi-dimensional scaling and visualization of proximity data. ggobi, the son-of-xgobi, has been written to be independent of X Windows and can thus run Microsoft Windows as well. xgobi, xgvis, and ggobi are also notable in that they can be integrated into R so that R's matrix transformations can be viewed in dynamic 3D.
