Distributing your project as OSS enables other organizations to do your marketing and distribution for you. The Debian project[35] is a Linux distribution that is maintained by volunteer developers around the world. Developers create and maintain packages of their favorite OSS projects and make them available via the Debian package manager. There are over 6500 packages in the current Debian release.
